FAQ and Answers
What kind of music do you play?
We call it Groove Metal. Influences include Tool, Deftones, MachineHead, Rage, et al. We like anything belligerent and intelligent.

How tall is your singer?
Lance is 8' tall and weighs 650 lbs.

Do you have a CD?
Funny you should ask... As our news page reveals, we have recently recorded at a local studio (you RULE, Spaceman!!), and should have a CD available before summer. Thanks to the availability and affordablilty of digital recording, we were able to get a quality sound for far less moo-la than we anticipated. The remaining obstacle is to get it packaged in such a way as to look professional  without having to finance the operation with a credit card. Wish us luck. If you would like to be put on "the list" of people to contact when it's ready, E-mail us at

What's on the CD?
We have recorded our original material, including a song that we have only played once in public (at Harpo's in November). We may also include a VERY new tune that you have only heard if you were at a particular party and listening while we were warming up. At that time, it was just an idea we had been throwing around.

What is Lance saying? I can't understand the words.
You think that's bad, you should see his handwriting! I think he does it so that he will be the only one who can ever sing anything he writes. I am currently working on deciphering the lyrics myself, and with his permission, may publish the lyrics on a page in the future.

How long have you guys been together?
We first played together as Mephisto in 1995. Dave was 16. HollowPoint officially formed in November of 1998. We've all known each other since Kindergarten in most cases. Tom is the elder of the Duncan brothers, and Dave met Merlin, Lance, and Rob in high school.

Is Lance really that tall and heavy?
Only on nights when the moon is full.

Why is Merlin so beligerent?
I'm not sure. Everytime I ask him, he tells me it's none of my damn business.

What's the best part about being in a band?
A guy came up to me once after a show and said that our music was "powerful" and that it "hit me right here" as he thumped his chest with his fist. To us, that's what it's all about. Some might think the best part is the chicks, but I guess you gotta be the lead singer to get the chicks unless your band is super huge or something.
